Port Orange Wrongful Death Attorney

When a death occurs, it has a devastating emotional, physical, mental, and even sometimes financial effect on the family. A senseless death that occurs as a result of the negligence of another, one that could have been avoided, can have an often indescribable effect on the family and loved left behind. When a death occurs as a result of negligence on the part of another, it is known as a wrongful death, and those surviving family members and loved ones who are left to suffer emotionally and financially have the right to make a wrongful death claim.

Port Orange Wrongful Death

A wrongful death suit is a civil lawsuit filed by the surviving family members of the deceased that seeks damages and financial compensation from the responsible party for the loss of their loved one. The process of filing a wrongful death suit can be a long and often daunting experience, especially for those family members who are struggling emotionally with the unnecessary loss of the loved one who has been tragically taken from them.

It can be difficult to prove a wrongful death claim. The death must have occurred as the result of an incident or accident which occurred due to the fault or negligence of another. Your loved one’s death must be proven to have occurred as a direct result of the accident, and you must be able to prove that the death has directly affected you and your family financially. Dealing with the death of a loved one can be painful enough, without the stress of dealing with the courts. Don’t face the fight alone.

Rue & Ziffra, Port Orange wrongful death attorneys, are here to stand by your side, and fight to get the compensation that you deserve. At Rue & Ziffra, we understand the trauma that can wreak havoc on the surviving members of the deceased’s family, and how much of a financial burden that a fatal accident can leave behind in its wake. Don’t endure this hardship alone. We are here 24/7 to answer your call and any questions you may have about making a wrongful death claim. Give our offices a call anytime, day or night, at 1-800-526-4711.

Nursing Home Abuse in Port Orange

When a loved one comes of age, friends and family members take great care when it comes to selecting a nursing home facility. We want to know that those who matter most to us are going to receive the best possible care as their lifespan reaches the golden years, especially if those loved ones took great care for us and helped us to grow into the successful adults that we are today. As we choose a nursing home for our loved ones, it is our expectation that we are choosing a facility in good confidence, one that will administer adequate and conscientious care to our loved ones.

nursing home abuse port orange

A nursing home facility is held to a standard of care that ensures that the medical and nursing professionals employed at the facility will perform their duties to care for and protect the safety of the residents with the utmost diligence. Unfortunately, these terms are often violated, more often than we realize or may want to know. Abuse and negligence often occur within a nursing home facility, leading to conditions such as malnourishment, and to the serious or sometimes fatal injury of the patient.

If you or a loved one resides in a nursing home in the State of Florida, you have rights that you may not be aware of. You have the right to have your individual dignity maintained and to be respected by those placed in charge of your care. If a nursing home facility violates the standard of care, the facility can be held responsible. When a patient has been victimized and injury or death occurs, the patient or the patient’s family is entitled to make a claim for damages. These damages can also include punitive damages for the emotional pain and suffering of the victim or the victim’s family.

At Rue & Ziffra, Port Orange nursing home abuse attorneys, we understand the need for our loved ones to be kept safe and to be well taken care of, and we understand the devastation that the victims of nursing home abuse and their families suffer when these expectations are violated. We care about the residents of our community and want to see the health and wellness of our elders maintained to the highest standard. We are on your side, and here to fight for your rights. Give us a call today. We are here for you, 24/7, to meet your needs and to answer any questions you may have about your case.

Nursing Home Neglect

nursing-home

Our loving, caring, grandmother, grandfather, or even elderly mother or father, lying on a hospital bed, alone and neglected by those in whose care she has been entrusted. It’s not a thought anyone of us wants to have. In fact, our loved ones being left to fend for themselves against negligent doctors or nurses would make anyone cringe or redden with anger. But the reality of the matter is, that neglect in nursing homes happens all too often, and what a tragic and devastating reality it is.

Whether or not a nurse or doctor puts his or her hands on a patient, nursing home neglect can have similar emotionally traumatizing effects for the patient as being physically abused. However, the harm that comes to the patient when he or she is physically abused is intentional, whereas nursing home neglect can happen without the intent of the nurse or doctor in charge. The neglect must, however, involve a breach of duty with foreseeable consequences.

At Rue and Ziffra, we care about you and your family, and that includes those loved ones who cannot care for or fend for themselves. That’s where we come in. We will defend you and your family when you are unable to do so yourself. We will be the voice for those who have lost theirs. When you need help, and you call our offices, you will talk to an actual member of our team, not a call center. When you contact Rue and Ziffra, we are here for you, and you can reach us anytime, day or night. If you or a loved one has been the victim of nursing home neglect, let us be your voice. Give us a call today.

Medical Malpractice Cases in the News

medical-malpractice

These days, medical malpractice is becoming an all too-common occurrence. Too often we read in our newspapers or watch on our television sets, stories about doctors and nurses, who should be caring for the sick and the elderly, are being sued due to breach of duty and medical negligence. As recently as this month, a 71 year old woman by the name of Annabelle Glasgow was awarded a whopping settlement of $4.7 million dollars against Dr. Easwaran Balasubramanian. Doctors were forced to amputate poor Ms. Glasgow’s severely infected leg after an incision site from knee surgery performed by Dr. Balasubramanian had festered. Dr. Balasubramanian had ordered Ms. Glasgow released from the hospital after her surgery, despite her complaints of pain, and ignored further complaints from Ms. Glasgow when she went for her follow-up visits. The resulting amputation was devastating to Ms. Glasgow, but unfortunately, many other victims of medical malpractice do not find themselves so lucky as to undergo surgery and live to tell the tale.

There are many cases in the news of medical malpractice, and the accumulating stories often result in the unfortunate and unnecessary death of a loved one. If you find that you or a loved one has been the victim of a doctor or nurse’s breach of duty, and resulting medical practice, give our offices a call today. Here at Rue and Ziffra, we care for those who cannot care for themselves. We are in your community, and on your side, and we make it our duty to speak up and fight for victims of medical malpractice. We strive to make ourselves available to you 24/7.
